Our pavilion is starting to look a little tired and in need of a bit of a spruce up and TLC, so it presents as a more welcoming environment.
Our club was established in 1965 and has, like many clubs, survived, developed and thrived thanks to a long line of volunteers. We run two senior teams, a ladies team and have juniors from age six to fourteen in our Juniors section, with many playing in various teams. It's a friendly club with a hard working committee with a few constantly involved in fundraising to help meet annual expenditure.
Why are we crowdfunding? Funds are already tight this season, as we will have to use club reserve funds to help with the purchase of a new mower. However, the committee believes that this shouldn't preclude us from looking at improving other areas of the club. To help the club to grow and develop, it is essential that we present a warm, inviting and welcoming environment, especially for any potential new members and for visiting teams. First impressions are very important as we all know.
How we’ll spend the money raised Our soft furnishings at the pavilion, sofas, tables. chairs etc have seen better days. Depending on how much we can raise we will be replacing or refurbishing many of these items of furniture. We are also looking into moving the boundary fence near the pavilion forward so that there is more space in front of the pavilion for picnic benches and tables, as again, our current outdoor park-style benches are looking a little outdated for 2026. We hope to give the pavilion - inside & outside - a fresh, clean look which will make it more welcoming for allcomers to the club.
Community impact As the Women's World Cup comes to the UK this summer, this is the perfect opportunity to reach out to the community and demonstrate to them what a friendly, inclusive and, most of all, fun activity cricket can be, as well as the social aspect of new friendships being made, with the club as its focus.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
