Aim

This isn't an attack on the club, just an honest appeal to help someone who's helped other supporters as much as anyone else.

Please only donate £1 and leave a message for SAFC, this is like a petition but live and with a link that can be sent out to anyone interested. We're just many ordinary Sunderland supporters who've tried to resolve a dreadful situation that's badly affected many of us but one in particular.

We're 'Crowd Funding' to gauge how many feel aggrieved and also to demonstrate, to the club, how this is seen by the people who support SAFC.

Paul has helped hundreds of supporters with tickets, transport, advice and support for many years. During the dark times of relegations, and seasons in L1, he's worked tirelessly to keep people going to games and support the club. At times the club have engaged him to help sell away allocations when they couldn't find customers. As with the many SAFC branches he's 'bribed and bullied' people to buy the tickets and take a seat on the travel he's organised which takes a huge amount of time effort and, often, personal expense.

The rules and regulations from the ticket office have constantly changed to the point whereby supporters have been baffled as to how to buy, pass on or refund tickets. Even now the same questions are being asked and many supporters are experiencing difficulties.                                                                                                                                 Paul fell foul of these endless complications and, despite only ever wanting to help people, was sanctioned by the club and banned from attending games. As someone who's built his life around support for the club, and helping other supporters, this has had a devastating effect on his health, not to mention his mental wellbeing. Many appeals have gone to the club, registered letters sent and various other means of communication tried ... all to no avail. Many earnest letters, from decent honest people, have gone unanswered while, at the same time, we're being regularly informed about how valued we are and how the club care for us.

This message isn't an attack on the club, not even a demand, it's simply an appeal.

We're hoping people will donate a quid which will go to charity and you can even nominate your own. The money is just a token gesture but will enable people to sign their name and send a personal message to the club. In that way, hopefully, they'll see how many people are upset about this and take the time to reconsider.

So Spread the word by whichever means you can. Share the message on your social media pages and ask to get behind this. If you're on the train to Ipswich, or having a pint at the Colliery, mention it to anyone who might now know ... the more people we reach, the more support we will get. This is simply a petition, not a fundraiser and every penny will go to charity but please only donate £1, it's the message that's important and not the money, many thanks.
