We bring to life the men of the 82nd Airborne in 1944, we need your help to open an educational museum in memory of the greatest generation.
We bring to life the men of the famous 82nd Airborne Division's 'Pathfinder' sticks of 505th Regimental Combat Team during World War II.
This year we plan to restore and build an original Nissen hut used by the US army during World War II, the hut will be located in Crewkerne Somerset temporary home for the US 29th, 115th infantry division during 1944 before the invasion of Europe by allied forces. Once complete the hut will be fitted with period correct artifacts and used as a living history museum for the public to enjoy and learn about the men of the 29th and 82nd Airborne divisions. The hut will also serve as a headquarters for Pathfinders of the 505th, that's why we need your help to do finance the Nissen hut's construction and inspire the next generation to help keep this history alive.
This article from the Western Gazette features the new plans for a vintage motor museum in Crewkerne, this museum will be along side our hut as seen on the plans. Fortunately we have already acquired the frame for the hut and thus need to raise the funds to help towards its construction, along side this we hope to be able to purchase rare pathfinder equipment to fill the hut once completed. We hope to create an informative, educational center for all things US Infantry during World War II.
Below is are some historical photos of Nissen huts from around the country, we hope to build our hut to the same specifications, paying close attention to detail and historical accuracy.

Here you can see a very rare piece of pathfinder equipment, items like the Eureka beacon will play a huge part in giving our hut an unique informative experience for all to enjoy.
