Party In-A-Box

Aim: Help me get my accidental lockdown business fully up and running and into a fully fledged enterprise.

My name is Jojo and I started a kids party business back in 2019.  I had only been up and running for a few months when we went into lockdown and all my upcoming party bookings had to be cancelled.

It was devastating, not only did my only source of income immediately dry up I also had the thought of all those kids who had parties booked now being disappointed.  

So, on went my thinking cap as I wanted to do something that would help these kids still be able to celebrate their birthdays. And that's how Party In-A-Box was born…

I turned my bedroom into a workshop and got straight to work building my first ever product, a box that contained everything you’d need to have a super fun party at home with friends and family.  

I started delivering them to the doorsteps of all the kids who‘d had parties booked with me, they were a huge hit, word started to get out about the boxes and then I started getting enquires from families all over.  

It took off like a rocket, I could barely keep up with demand, whilst most people spent lockdown baking cakes and going for leisurely strolls I was working harder than ever, it was incredible, exhausting and  logistically challenging trying to keep up with demand whilst also not totally neglecting my 2 young kids who I solo parent, life was definitely "adventurous"  but also so much fun at the same time.

 When lockdown ended my party business started to pick up again and I just found that I had no time for Party In-A-Box and it had to go on the back burner, but I never ever gave up wanting to get it up and running again, so here I am….

The Product

Party In-A-Box is a box (obviously) filled with everything you could possibly need, all fully set up and ready for a fun filled party at home (or venue, school, office, anywhere basically). We have designed this product from scratch and includes, decorations, party props, party games, prizes, cookie decorating kit, craft kits and party bags for each guest.  We also want to build a feature on our website which will allow customers to create their own party box choosing a theme and adding the things they want.

The Plan

The plan is to try and raise all the funds I need, using social media, creating  super fun content, giving away prizes to contributors and raising awareness, this is an experiment, the idea came to me in a dream, I have no idea if it'll work but I'm going to give it a shot as in reality its the only way were going to be able to get the funds we need to be able to launch by Dec 2025.  So be sure to follow me on social media and come join in the fun!! 

The Prizes

We have spent a good chunk of time dreaming up some incredible prizes that we're super excited about!! you are supporting my wildest dreams, I want to say thanks the best way I know how, so here's a list of prizes we're offering:

3. Full size Party box's, use for your own birthday or have them sent to anyone of your choosing

4. Mini party box's, a cute miniature version of our party box's suitable for 1 person filled with some fun crafty activities.

5. Exclusive invitation to our annual staff Christmas party - being a party venue with  a whole range of fun entertainment at our fingertips we obviously throw the most epic staff parties and this year we want to open it up to our biggest supporters!! You'll get a plus 1 invite so you can bring whoever you'd like. Date TBC but sometime in December!

6. Every single supporter is getting their name added in glitter onto our supporters wall in our party studio.  

7. We will follow every supporter on social media, Facebook, insta, tik tok

The Journey

So here I am 4 years later, at the very beginning, starting from scratch but with a solid plan in place and ready to go.  The first thing I need is a website where customers can go and easily purchase our products, this is the biggest start up expense.  Next we need create and build our launch product, we want to create a party box to send out for free to as many people as we can and that will be our official product launch party.  We also need to need to find a warehouse space to store our products and work from.  So that brings me to crowdfunding, I’ve looked at all the options and based on what I need and feel this is the best option for me, this way I can raise the funds and at the same time start building our pool of potential customers.  I love my product from the bottom of my heart and think you will too and I can’t wait to bring the party to your homes up and down the country very soon.
