Dear donors,

It has been a while, but firstly I just wanted to say a massive thank you for believing in me and giving me a chance to make a change within the community. Without you, it just wouldn't have happened and Lambeth or Wandsworth wouldn't have a new safe space for Caribbean food or for those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

There have been many ups and downs but right now, let's focus on the ups!

1. A new restaurant has been created with your donations!

2. There are new recipes developed to excite your taste buds

3. The local community are happy and everyone pops in to say hello.

I just couldn't feel more grateful!

I might have had the drive, the vision and the determination but without your hard-earned money, trust or belief in me, this would have fallen apart at the seams.

Your rewards

I think you are starting... Well, I am hopeful that you are starting to see more and more of who I am. I try to be transparent and right now my business is financially at Zero so every single day counts... I have no shame in publically sharing this with you, because like before, I will simply have to build it again from scratch. 

You see, 515 Wandsworth road had been empty for over 5 years, and in the end became a construction project, not a refurbishment. It took me longer than expected but I rarely give up and my promise to those, who have purchased rewards, is to honour my word in the new year.

To explain further:

After legalities, I was left with just 6k (from your donations) to build a restaurant (which no one does). I even self-financed a bit so, to ensure we do not crumble at the seams in our new phase. It is key that I first develop the right team and a positive financial cash flow - to get things on a balance in-house. Stock is more expensive; our landlord needs his money; time moves on and we have some costly bills to clear. Therefore, it's imperative that Paradise cove is "comfortable all round," before we lose anything more. So, with this in mind, all rewards will be honoured after March 2024. 

The simple reason for this, is we must use the last of our rent-free period to give ourselves a financial chance.

Once March is upon us, the home stretch is clear and all rewards will be honoured at our new home, that is 515 Wandsworth road. Those eligible for rewards will be updated through this platform.

What happens next...

As mentioned above we have a few internal battles to get back onto an even keel but for now, I can say we have a better start than I have ever had within my career. I am currently building a new committed team who understand the vision - as it was never linked to a Pub. It was linked to core values, that never changed. 

To end, progressively throughout 2024, I will be revelling how we will support care leavers and I say very humbly.
