This isn't a, publicity campaign - this is an organic, natural movement and I hope that through simply reading this, you will be better informed of the national crisis.
Dear reader,
Intro:
My name is Tarell McIntosh, better known as Chef Tee. I am a 30 year old care experienced man. My story is very well known - but I am lucky. I am able to tell my story, able to articulate my narrative and in a privileged position, that was gifted to me by my community. Many care experienced people... or in fact care experienced children (right here on our door steps) are not.
Data:
The recent figures and reports are there, right in front you:
1) Children's commissioner report 2023
2) Children looked after in England including adoptions
4) National Implementation Adviser for Care Leavers second report
5) Independent review of children’s social care
etc etc
Government Head lines

The goal (keeping it simple)
Every month, as long as this 'Caribbean restaurant exsists'. We will set aside a minimum of 515.00. This will be used as small pot, for our own community grants - made accessible to care leavers across London.
1) The grants can be applied for at any time in the month
2) The stipulations for a Cash grant will be:
They must be a looked after child, under the children's act 1989 (aged 16 - 25)
They must be able to provide 2 key worker references (doctors, NHS worker, Social worker etc etc)
They must have a UK bank account (Not essential)
They must have proof of ID (Not essential)
There will be a higher rate and lower rate of the grant, that the young person can apply for - but the starting rate will be 51.50. Symbolic of our house, that is 515 Wandsworth road. But also taken from Government data and Universal Credit rates 2024.
Why Cash?
Why not?
The plans:
As of 18th August 2024, We have currently raised 3000.00 GBP. And what ever we raise over this campaign will be pocketed, and then evenly divided out over the next 12 months as the source of our grants.
Each month as pledged (perhaps a bit faster now and during the campaign), we will add 515.00 - possibly a bit more. But I ask of you to on donate what you can afford. A few have asked how to contribute - and I believe in equal equity. So feel free to join along this campaign.
(I also pledge to reimburse the transactional fees. So this is real community drive)
"This isn't a, publicity campaign - this is an organic, natural movement and I hope that in simply reading this, you will be better aware of the national crisis."
Sometimes "push the need forward."
