To upgrade our pavilion's toilet and shower facilities to make them more comfortable, enjoyable and accessible for all to use

On the 30th September 2023 we'd raised £555 with 12 supporters in 61 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Formed in 1876, we are a community cricket club based in Griffithstown, Torfaen. We started as the works team representing Panteg Steelworks, which was a major employer in the village. In 2023 we now run 3 open age teams, 2 women's softball teams, and junior teams at every age group.
Our pavilion and ground were built in the early 1980s and have been our pride and joy for over 40 years. Our club has hosted any prestigious games such as Glamorgan and Wales matches, and we are famed for the beauty of our ground.
Since we launched our women's section in 2021, we have experienced huge growth in the number of women and girls playing cricket at Panteg. We are delighted to see so many people playing cricket at the club, especially on a Friday evening when up to 100 players from the ages of 5 to 55+ come down to practice their skills.
We are so privileged to have a fantastic group of women and girls within our club, who have become the heartbeat of the club in so many ways. Our current pavilion is configured for men's sport and we need to invest in improvements to the showers and toilets to make them more modern and comfortable for all genders to use.
The money we raise will be topped up by Sport Wales and the England Cricket Board to ensure we will have enough budget to:
1. Replace existing toilets with accessible cubicles to improve safeguarding and provide facilities we can be proud of
2. Replace the flooring throughout the toilet & shower area with non-slip safety flooring
3. Install privacy screen in shower area for the safety and comfort of all users
During the summer the ground is in use at least 6 days per week, providing cricket activities to local children and adults. We also enjoy hosting professional teams such as Glamorgan and the Western Storm, plus Wales representative matches.
While our ground is mainly used for cricket, we also have plans to host national archery tournaments.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
