About Us
We are students in the third year of our Painting Drawing and Printmaking degree at Plymouth College of Art and are raising funds for our final year show in June. With your support we aim to raise sufficient funds to produce a professional exhibition catalogue showcasing our diversity as artists, celebrating three years hard work, providing us with a platform from which to launch ourselves into the professional art world.
Our BA programme is one of only a few programmes in the UK to offer specialist technical and critical study in painting, drawing and printmaking. It is a dynamic programme aimed at students who are excited by the prospect of a rigorous materials based and process-driven education in art practice. Through the study of materials and techniques, it encourages the development of professional practice within the arts. Plymouth College of Art is playing an increasingly important part in showcasing Plymouth as a centre for art and culture, not only in the South West, but also nationally and internationally. The college is a Founding Associate of Tate Exchange, recently hosting a Pop-up School and Symposium and a drawing exchange with Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Montpellier and a print exchange with New York.
Our Show
Our degree show will be held at Plymouth College of Art in June 2017. It will showcase our transition from students to professional artists and will present a variety of work consisting of paintings, drawings, prints and installations.
It is free and open to the public as part of the college's Graduste Shows. The money raised from this crowdfunding project will produce a professional exhibition catalogue that will include a profile of each artist, with photographs of the work presented at the show.
Our show, supported by the catalogue, is an important first step into the wider South West artist community, where many of the students on the course will start their careers. The Graduate Shows attract local and national galleries and buyers, enabling the students to make contacts in the professional world of art, with a fantastic opportunity to network before stepping into their graduate career.
Please note that this voluntary fundraising page has been set up to directly support student-led activities and as such is authored and managed independently by students, not for, or on behalf of Plymouth College of Art.
Rewards
Your donation for this project will make a genuine contribution enabling the students on this degree to emerge as professional artists. As a reward for supporting us, we offer a range of limited edition reproduction prints, hand made cards and workshops.
