To build a wellness centre in Hayle, to run community projects, support groups & personal training. Providing a safe space to move better.
Hi, I am opening a wellness centre on the historic Paddys Mill site in Hayle. I own a 40ft shipping container that will be placed on the site at the junction of black road, Lethlean lane, opposite the skate park at the recreation ground. The plans are to wooden clad the container, install solar panels and granite chip the car park area of the site. The inside area will be fully kitted out with functional fitness equipment, seating for support groups and a 'pop up' swap box, which is a community organisation that I also run, which offers a place to donate used running clothing to those that need it for free.
It will be a safe space to move, feel well and escape. A place to train my existing and future 121 clients and also headquarters to the Community Interest Company that I set up 2021 which runs projects to help those locally. The CIC works with the SPWT, Social prescribing Working Team of Bodgriggy and Stennack GP surgeries. Specifically, the community intertest company offers help to members of the community that have a physical and/or mental difficulty and/or those feeling isolated, that prevents them from leading an active life.

The wellness centre and the Community Interest Company will provide outdoor and indoor small group targeted activities for those people who would not usually access them.
This would include people with a wide range of physical and emotional difficulties and impairments. Offering a safe space to work together in small groups on mindful movement for wellness, focusing on functional lifestyle movements to make day to day activities easier.
I will also be offering the wellness centre as a location for many local support groups and local health practitioners.
The money raised with Crowdfunding will go on putting together this project. I will need all the help I can get with this build. Solar panels, outdoor and indoor equipment, signage and plenty more. The timber and the materials needed to clad the centre and carpark has been kindly donated by local companies, but the costs are amounting nether the less.
I look forward to continuing the services I provide to the local community in a space that attendees can feel comfortable and dry in the winter months and creating a space that encourages mindful movement and connection.
