The Aim of this project is to raise funds to take Malone Minis P7 Team on an end of season tour to the Alcobendas Rugby Festival in Madrid.
Mini Rugby was first introduced to Malone RFC in the late 1970’s/early 1980’s lasting a few seasons. In 1989 mini rugby was reintroduced to the club and now, nearly 35 years later, Mini Rugby is going from strength to strength with well over 100 primary school aged children from all genders regularly attending training sessions on a weekly basis at Gibson Park. Mini rugby at Malone is first and foremost a lot of fun. It's fun for the parents , it's fun for the coaches and most of all, it's fun for the players. The ethos of mini rugby at Malone is to foster and develop young players of all genders and ability in the game of rugby in a safe, non competitive, enjoyable environment through activities which ensure progressive skill development for all participants.
Malone Minis P7 group is the end of a 7 year long journey for many of our children as many move on to Secondary Education and thus into Youth Sports.
As a way to say a HUGE "Thanks for the Journey and See you later", each year Malone Minis endevour to take the current P7 Team on an end of season Tour to the Alcobendas Rugby Festival in Madrid which sees around 1400 children come together to play rugby.
To help raise funds, on Sunday 27th August 2023, the team will be taking on the challenge of climbing Slieve Donard, the highest mountain in Northern Ireland and the wider province of Ulster with a height of 850 metres.

We are crowdfunding to help buy Tour kit for the P7 Team while on tour. Kit will include Playing Top, Tour Backpack and Tour T-Shirts
