Aim: Put Midlothian and Scotland first and help Owen Thompson win Midlothian for the Scottish National Party
I’m standing for re-election as the Member of Parliament for Midlothian, and I need your help.
Over the last few years many more people have realised that the powers that come with independence are exactly what we need to tackle the cost-of-living crisis and the climate emergency.
Now more than ever we need to press that case and demonstrate that this is not some abstract debate about the constitution but a matter of real changes here and now.
We have a real alternative to the sickening right-wing populism of the Tories and the pathetic lack of ambition of Sir Keir Starmer’s hollowed out Labour Party.
The SNP are the only party that speak up for Scotland in Westminster - no matter who the Prime Minister is, and as your local Midlothian voice in Parliament Owen will continue to make sure Midlothian is heard.
That’s the message I’ll be putting forward in the general election.
What do we need money for?
Our members and activists are fantastic campaigners, and they are working hard to get Owen's message out, but we need your help please and help us win this constituency for Owen and the SNP.
You can donate any amount, no matter how small or large, every leaflet we are able to print and constituent we are able to reach counts. We know money is tight for many at the moment, but we are grateful for any donation and it does make a difference.
These are some of the major campaign expenses we need to fund:
- Campaign literature - In the next few weeks we'll leaflet the entire constituency with campaign literature. It's really important to get accurate information out to voters and to make it easy for them to get in touch with Owen and the Midlothian SNP team.
- Letters to voters - While the purpose of leafleting is to ensure a blanket delivery of information across the constituency, writing letters to voters is all about targeted communication and following up on contacts we have made before. Our campaigners have already contacted many thousands of electors across Midlothian, and will contact many more in the run-up to polling day.
- Posters & other material - We want to give window posters, car stickers, and badges to any supporter that would like to show their support. A good display of window posters and a high profile ensures everyone knows there is an election on and encourages SNP supporters to get out and vote.
So these are the kinds of things we are asking you to help fund. Fighting a really good local campaign requires money and we want to fight the best campaign possible to re-elect Owen.
