Women and girls make up a third of our club members. We want to enhance the pavilion toilet and shower facilities for their added comfort.
Outwood Cricket Club is an inclusive club run solely by volunteers for the benefit of our community. It is set in the heart of the village and has been an exceptional place to play and watch cricket since 1887. Our pavilion is where friendships are formed, players develop, families gather, and our community comes together. We currently provide opportunities for 85 adult players, which includes 30 women. The club also a youth academy for boys and girls aged 6 to 16 years. We currently have 99 youth members of which 50 are girls.
In addition, the club runs regular club nights where friends can gather for a game of darts or pool, as well as quiz nights and bingo. On academy nights a BBQ is provided for kids and parents.
The club also hosts regular friendly matches with other clubs, including mixed men and women’s matches and mums and daughters and lads and dads matches. We also have close links to local schools providing opportunities for children outside of the club to benefit from the facilities.

Currently the clubhouse has one female toilet which is also a disabled toilet, and two urinals and a cubicle for the men. The changing rooms have access to an open shower area with four showers. When the clubhouse was built in 2011 there were no female players.Since then the number of female players (including young girls) has grown substantially to 81, which means these facilities are no longer meeting the needs of all members.
To improve these facilities for current members as well as the next generation of female players, we need to raise additional funds to achieve the quality of finish we desire, which will ultimately benefit all members. We have been busy fundraising over the year, including Bluebell walk tea, quiz nights and obtaining sponsorships, and we are fortunate that Sport England have pledged £15,000 to the club on condition that we raise at least another £15,000 via this Crowdfunder with a minimum of 25 unique supporters.
We hope you’ll support us and spread the word to family and friends.

The Outwood CC Pavillion Next Generation Development will create a clubhouse to be proud of, which meets the needs of current and future generations of players, in particular women and girls. It aims to provide a welcoming and inclusive facility for all.
The project includes
Our aim is to make the club a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone in the community; not just players, but families, spectators and visiting teams who use our facilities every week.
By improving our facilities we hope to attract and retain more female members and increase youth participation in particular young and teenage girls to enjoy the game we all love. A more inclusive and welcoming environment will help grow our membership overall.
The upgraded facilities will support wider community use beyond cricket, including local events, school partnerships, and informal recreation, boosting social cohesion and well being.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
