Aim

To create an outdoor classroom and mini nature reserve with shelter for all weather use, to be used for general lessons and Forest School.

The Iver Heath Junior School PTA works in partnership with Iver Heath Junior School to advance the education of the children attending the school.  We are a group of Parents and Careers who volunteer our time, give money and put on fundraising events to support the school. We do this so that we can provided additional resources for the school that are not funded by local council so that our children receive an enriched education.  We are passionate about raising our children to be responsible members of society and future custodians of the planet.  We believe that by educating our children about the wonderful, diverse and rich environment that is on their doorstep, it will inspire them to want to protect it and our precious planet.

Our school has an amazing space that would make a fantastic secure outdoor classroom for children of the local community. The space has hosted the Iver Heath Infant School Forest school in the past, but has fallen into disuse as a result of the pandemic.  We want to revitalise the area and create a space that can be used for all the children in the local community.

The space could be used to host Forest School syllabus lessons for both the Infant and Junior school children and for practical elements of the Science, History and Geography lessons.  We can also open it up for local community groups such as Scouts and Brownies to use after school and at the weekend.

We plan log seating for 30 children with a shelter for all weather use. We would also like to plant native trees, bushes and plants to supplement what is already there, erect bird boxes and bug hotels to attract nature. A further phase of the project can include refurbishment of the pond area to further develop a mini nature reserve and attract wildlife.

The majority of the money would mainly be used  buy the shelter. Other cash will buy plants, items for the Forest School curriculum and some hand tools to enable us to maintain the area by ourselves in the future.  We have already received offers of donations for the log seating and local community groups have offered to make the bug hotel and bird boxes if we pay for the materials.

Please help us raise funds for this fantastic project!!!
