During the Covid crisis I have been making Activity Packs for children living in families struggling financially, emotionally or living without gardens. Since the beginning of April, with the help of many, many amazing volunteers, we have managed to make and deliver almost 1000 packs to more than 600 children across Brighton, Hove and Lewes. Many have been delivered to charities, refuges, schools and other community organisations. As time goes on and we remain affected by the Covid situation, there is clearly a need to keep providing these packs for families. Over the holidays, there is no doubt some families will continue to struggle despite the gradual shift towards 'normal'.
Packs can be ordered by anyone who would like to give their kids a little boost. The hope is to provide as many for free as possible, but if anyone is able to contribute financially, they will be enabling the project to continue on a 'pay-it-forward' basis.
We would like to be able to provide some small workshops in the coming months, subsidised by crowdfunder donations for those who can't afford it, so we will be very grateful to you for your support in helping us to make this happen. If it can't happen quite yet, it will happen as soon as we can find a way!
Everyone is dealing with this crisis in different ways, so I would like the packs to be accessible to as many people as possible, so your support is very much appreciated to enable me to continue for as long as I possibly can.
I have received a mountain of support so far, from donations, deliveries, packing, ideas and more. I am so grateful to everyone who has helped to keep this project running. From the many messages I've received, I know that these packs have been much welcomed, and I intend to keep going for as long as needed.
