Build and sell the most efficient solar panels in the world, increase the efficiency of existing panels, save the world.
Hi, I’m Dr Michael Bertin, I have a maths and physics degree and a PhD in engineering, from the University of Bath.
I have spent the last year putting together a team that believes we can build the most efficient solar panel in the world and develop a retrofit product that can make existing solar panels more efficient.
This is because we have discovered a new way to tackle the heat problem.
47% of light from the sun is in the Infra-red spectrum, this energy is not collected by traditional photovoltaic systems.
Excess heat above 25 degrees Celsius significantly decreases the efficiency of solar panels by about 1% per degree.
This is a problem in hot countries, exactly where we need to put solar panels.
Pyroelectric oscillating heat pipes combine thermal cooling with energy harvesting.
When optimised, this novel technology could revolutionise the solar market.
We also believe that it could be sold for a wide range of other applications.
Here’s how I’ll do it.
We use a large amount of seed investment to accelerate research and development, and bring a product to market early in year 2, selling to existing solar installations.
The revenue generated funds the development of the high efficiency solar panel, with which we aim to set a world record.
Then we deploy the solar panels, in high solar energy density areas, around the world.
From there, we automate the production process, accelerating the global transition to solar energy.
Ultimately, the only way to control the climate of this planet is to massively increase the amount of energy we can manipulate, in order to more precisely control the chemical composition of the atmosphere.
I already know a lot of the people who can get this done and I’m ready to convince everyone else.
We have significant interest from multiple investors, the patent is pending, and the IP report is clean as a whistle.
There is a huge fusion reactor in the sky, and I think we should use it properly.
