Aim

Building a sisterly learning community for black women, dedicated to supporting our professional, entrepreneurial and personal growth.

What is Our Sisters Network?

A learning and development community created to support the professional, entrepreneurial and personal growth of Black Women. The project’s aim is to connect women and to nurture our continuing success. With access to a wealth of resources, Our Sisters Network is committed to providing high-quality learning and support. I have created three areas or referred to as community hubs:

  • personal development hub - creating a safe space ensuring your well-being is at the centre of your success.
  • professional development hub  - empowering and encouraging women into leadership.
  • entrepreneurship - supporting women into creating sustainable and thriving businesses.

Why does this project need to exist?

  • to create a platform for sharing, learning and implementation. Carefully curated and lead by women of colour, representation matters.
  • to create a safe space that recognizes and addresses the unique set of social, financial and emotional adversity black women face. Our Sisters Network project will provide tangible solutions in order to overcome and succeed.
  • to create a free flow of conversation, creativity and cultural expression without bias.

What makes this project unique?

OSN offers a holistic approach to success this is unique in that members are expected to view their growth or potential failure in their businesses or careers as a direct link to their emotional well-being. The women within the network are expected to do both internal and external work.

How does this project fill a void in the market?

This project will:

  • promote and support the development of both entrepreneurs and professionals.
  • provide solution-oriented learning along with access to subject matter experts. Each learner should leave the sessions with resources and real-life action plans.
  • this is all achieved in a vibrant and creatively charged environment that celebrates black culture.

Where will the initial funding be spent?

Initial funding will go towards our official Spring launch campaign. This campaign will be the first of many series of workshops, taster sessions and networking events. Funding will cover the hiring of venues, catering, marketing activity and facilitators cost.
