Who are we:
A group of local residents who came together to found https://www.thevillagehub.org.uk/ which acts as a drop in space and organises activities to enable local people to feel supported, to make connections with each other that help us do life better and to feel proud of themselves and living in Stoke and Morice Town.

What, when & how?
Our Fun Day is held on 20th July 2025 this year. It is the 5th time we have been able to close the main street through Stoke Village so that residents and retailers can spill out into the street. Many local people and retailers give their time free of charge to enable this event to happen, however we need to pay for licences, road closure conditions set by the local Council, toilets, bins, security, first aid services, safety equipment, power, stages and bought in support from Diverse Events for traffic management and to help us run a smooth and safe event for the 2000 people who attend. Additional funds this year would help us source entertainment and free activities for local families whose budgets are often very tight. This means we can create a deeply inclusive event that brings everyone together in our community.
Our target
We have set ourselves an ambitious target for this project, and we are hoping to secure 50% of our target via match funding. This means if we can raise at least £2500 from our backers, this would be matched so that we can hit our £5000 target. Your support for our project will demonstrate to others outside our local area how important this day is to all of us living in Stoke and Morice Town. It's so much more than just a one off event!
Get involved!
Your support means the world to us! It shows that by many local people giving a little bit, we can, together, do something exceptional that creates memories and experiences that last a long time, enable greater community pride and cohesion and help us all feel that we don't have to struggle alone to create a great place to live our lives.
