Aim

This prize draw is running to raise money for urgent and essential repairs to our radio ship 'Ross Revenge' in dry dock to secure her future

Our draw prize is a striking ceramic mosaic depicting Radio Caroline’s former pirate radio ship 'Mi Amigo', which sank on 19 March 1980 after her chain broke during a force 10 storm. The crew were rescued by the Sheerness Lifeboat.

This piece of wall art was commissioned two years ago from mosaic artist Rita Gav, known internationally for her iconic music-themed work. It measures 35” x 24” and weighs 45 lbs. The mosaic comes with a certificate of authentication.

The Cause

'Ross Revenge' is in urgent need of dry docking, where surveys and important maintenance can be carried out. Our prize draws will supplement our fundraising appeal to achieve our goal of securing the future of our historic ship for generations to come. The former pirate radio ship 'Ross Revenge' is still regularly broadcasting at sea today and more than 1,200 visitors tour the ship each year. The vessel is an important part of both deep sea fishing and broadcasting history. To lose her would be a tragedy.
