Aim
This prize draw is running to raise money for urgent structural repairs to our radio ship 'Ross Revenge' in dry dock to secure her future
The Prize
Our Crowdfunder Draw Prize is an original and professionally refurbished Bush TR82b (Mark 1) radio in excellent condition. Manufactured in June 1961 by Bush Radio, London.
The caramel-colour case with a brown trim has been cleaned and polished. The wax and Bakelite capacitors have been replaced, but the radio still retains its original transistors. It has been converted to use 3 x PP3 batteries. Dimensions: 13 w x 10 "h (to top of case) x 4" deep
Enjoy the authentic sound of Radio Caroline on an original 1961 Bush radio - if you are in our reception area you can tune in to Caroline at around 465 metres
Prize kindly donated by Dave Cragie from The Moggie Van Radio Collection
The Cause
'Ross Revenge' is in urgent need of dry docking, where surveys and structural repairs can be carried out. Our prize draws supplement our fundraising appeal to achieve our goal of securing the future of our historic ship for generations to come. The former pirate radio ship 'Ross Revenge' is still regularly broadcasting at sea today and more than 1,200 visitors tour the ship each year. The vessel is an important part of both deep sea fishing and broadcasting history
