We aim to expand our team to drive policy change and advocacy, reducing the need for foodbanks by tackling the root causes of hardship.

About Us and Our Vision:

We are Nikki and Armin, co-directors of Colchester Foodbank, leading a committed and compassionate team that strives to address hunger and its root causes. While our primary mission is to provide emergency food to those in crisis, we are deeply focused on creating a future where foodbanks are no longer needed. We believe that by tackling core issues like housing insecurity, low wages, and systemic inequalities, we can empower people and create sustainable change within our community.

How We’ll Use the Funds:

The funds will enable us to expand our organising team, which is crucial for our advocacy efforts. With a larger team, we can drive forward campaigns for policy change, work directly with decision-makers, and support initiatives that tackle issues such as affordable housing, fair wages, and improved social support systems. These funds will help us reach more people, reduce reliance on foodbanks, and build a stronger, more resilient community.
