A community library for all
Ore Library had been a beacon in the heart of Ore Village for many years. Following the decision to close the library by the county council, a group of people from the local community came together to 'Save Ore Library'.
After a successful campaign, we reopened as Ore Community Library on 1st May 2021 - a free to join library that now stocks over 5,000 books and audio books.
We are open 3 days a week (Tues, Thurs, and Sat from 10am - 4pm) and are run entirely by the genorosity of volunteers and local grant funding support.
Help keep us going
The reality is that just to deliver the basic services of Ore Community Library costs some £450 a month.
We have volunteers who remember coming to Ore Library when they were young, and we want our current group of young members to grow up with that same memory...but we need your help to do this.
If you've ever been a member of the library, ever borrowed a book from their, know someone who's used the library in the past, or simply love reading and want our libraries to endure...your support would be amazing and every £ helps.
