Always on

This project successfully funded on 17th September 2022, you can still support them with a donation.

Aim: We want to run a range of free or low cost accessible community events in our little independent queer and feminist bookshop in Chapel Walk.

We have been working on Juno Books for two years now and from the start we always wanted it to be more than "just" a straightforward bookshop. We want Juno Books to be an accessible, welcoming space for everyone and to run a series of different events designed to support marginalised groups to enjoy the magic of books.

We want to create a community funding pot to allow us to run reading groups and other events for groups including:

  • Parents of young children
  • Refugees and asylum seekers
  • Disabled and Neurodiverse people
  • LGBTQ people
  • Young adults

We would like to be able to provide books at no or low cost to these groups as well as cover the costs of any support workers and refreshments needed.

Funding will also need to cover our childcare costs to run the groups as well as marketing materials to help us reach as broad an audience as possible.
