ABOUT THE FOUNDER: Deborah Worrell
My journey through domestic abuse was a challenging one that left me struggling with dysfunction for years. The impact of the abuse was profound, causing depression, low self-esteem, and a lack of confidence. However, I refused to be defined by my experiences and dedicated time to heal from the abuse. I emerged stronger and determined to help other women who have faced similar challenges to rise above their circumstances.
This is how Time 2 Rise was born. Time 2 Rise is a Community Interest Company who's focus is on the restoration of women's emotional, financial, spiritual, mental, physical and social growth. Through public speaking, workshops, retreats, and the creation of my dynamic twelve week R.I.S.E Program (Regain, Independence & Strength 2 Empower) we have been able to inspire and support many women to overcome their struggles and build a brighter future for themselves.
Through the help and support from the Impact hub Kings Cross https://london.impacthub.net I have merged my passion for supporting women with my love for fashion and sustainability, to create another project called One's Of A Kind. The concept behind the workshop is taking something old, unwanted, discarded, useless and turn it into something new, vibrant, beautiful, useful and wanted. Many of the women that have experienced Domestic Abuse feel useless, unwanted, hopeless and discarded. Our mission is to inspire these women to take action and believe in themselves. If they can take action to transform items of clothing we believe they have the ability to take action to transform their lives too and we are here to support them on that journey.
PILOT WORKSHOP
In January of this year, I conducted a four-week pilot workshop, which was met with overwhelmingly positive feedback. The experience not only helped me fine-tune the workshop, but it also demonstrated the value of our mission and the potential for One's Of A Kind to make a real difference in the lives of women who have experienced domestic abuse.
During the pilot, we created a safe space where women could share their stories and learn new skills while enjoying refreshments and laughter. It was truly inspiring to witness the unity that formed and the transformation that took place in just four short weeks.
Building on the success of the pilot, I am excited to launch One's Of A Kind new venture that promotes sustainability and empowerment through upcycling and recycling clothes and reach even more women. With your support, we can provide a safe, empowering environment for survivors of domestic abuse to learn new skills, build confidence, and create a brighter future for themselves.
OUR AIM
I am looking for women to partner with me and build a team made up of passionate individuals who share the same vision of creating a safe and supportive community for women to learn, grow, and become empowered. With One's Of A Kind, we want to provide women who have experienced domestic abuse with a creative outlet that promotes sustainability and reduces waste. We believe that upcycling and recycling clothes not only gives new life to old garments but also helps women to believe they also can transform and rebuild their confidence and regain control over their lives
HOW TO USE THE FUNDS
The funds we raise will be used to promote and provide workshops and pay for a tutor, build a website, purchase materials, refreshments and equipment, and create a permanent safe and supportive space for women to come together and learn. Our vision is to empower women to become self-sufficient, confident independent women by providing them with the tools and skills they need for employment, become business owner and to succeed in life.
WHERE WE ARE GOING
We are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of women who have experienced domestic abuse. Through our community-based approach, we aim to provide employment opportunities and business creation by imparting new skills in our workshops. Our ultimate goal is to establish upcycling stores, featuring unique clothes created by our skilled women.
Join us in promoting sustainability, creativity, and empowerment through One's Of A Kind. We're excited about the impact we can create by working together to create a brighter future for these women.
With your support, we can continue to make strides towards our goals and create a world where every woman has the opportunity to succeed.
Thank you for considering supporting our mission. We're thrilled to have you join us in making a difference in the world. Together, we can achieve great things.
