Aim

Help us get our show on the road, and bring a little Christmas mayhem to children in schools!

HELP US GET THE SHOW ON THE ROAD! LITERALLY...

One Christmas Wish is an immersive adventure where you are the hero, touring in our one-of-a-kind mobile venue, The Palace.

Children and their adults enter The Palace in small groups, and experience One Christmas Wish on wireless headphones in our bespoke immersive environment.

In a nutshell:

  • We’ve got a high quality show that schools and venues want
  • But we've got a funding shortfall that will stop us bringing it to them
  • We need The Palace powered and road-ready for December

THE SHOW

The show is perfect for schools using Covid safety measures: we’ll ventilate and fog The Palace between bubbles, and we can provide a “Do It At Home” version for audiences who can’t come to us.

We piloted the experience at Culloden Primary - and they loved it - here's what the year 4 students had to say:

“This is the best story ever!”

“It felt like a really real story”

Through One Christmas Wish children explore:

  • Loneliness and friendship
  • Resilience in the face of difficult transitions
  • Multicultural neighbourhoods
  • LGBTQ+ characters
  • Persevering to help others

WHAT WE NEED

Competition for Arts Council funding has approximately tripled since the pandemic with a success rate of 12%

We’re delighted the Arts Council have awarded us a project grant, but we didn’t get the full amount we originally applied for.

We’ve got the funds to support the show’s creation with our outstanding creative team, but we still need £7400 to power The Palace and give it some vital finishing touches.

We need:

- Vital finishing touches to make The Palace roadworthy, from the low cost (a number plate!) to the high cost (a bespoke frame and waterproof cover).

- 2x heavy duty lithium batteries to power the show, and a solar panel to drip charge

- A Covid-safety kit including anti-viral foggers

This is where YOU come in...

1. Support us with any amount, large or small, it will make a huge difference.

2. Telling your friends would be extra special to us -

We're a new social enterprise, launched in response to the challenges faced by children, schools and creative freelancers during and since the pandemic.

We only get your contribution if we reach our target, help us get there by telling your friends. Will you share on Facebook, email or tweet about us?

Will you get us to £7400, and get our show out to children this winter?

THANK YOU

As a huge thank you for supporting One Christmas Wish we would like to invite you down to our base in Mitcham to experience, first hand, the finished show.

Join us on the 20th and 21st November 10am - 4pm.

Leave your email when you pledge, and we'll be in touch with all the details: come down and meet the creative team, take part in the experience and have a festive drink and some cake.

Friends and supporters further afield, we haven't forgotten you: we'll send you a private link to an audio-preview of the experience.

WHO ARE WE

We're director Jo Tyabji, carpenter Gary Holness and producer Dan Ball. We launched Graphite & Diamond in response to the challenges posed by the pandemic, and the Climate Crisis.
