Aim
I’ve secured a little funding for my book shop but I need your help! Please help me make Olive’s Book Club a reality!
Olive’s Book Club is a queer independent, anti-racist, anti-ableist and feminist book shop based in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. I want to create a safe and essential space in the North East for marginalised folks. Despite what I’ve been told, I think this is vital for our community. I’ve secured some funding but I need some more to make sure I have enough funds to make OBC as awesome as possible. People have told me it would take between £20-£80k to open my bookshop but this is not anywhere near what I can afford to borrow. We need literature from queer people, trans people and POC, we need the voices of disabled and mentally ill people out in the wild. Opening a shop is a expensive and timely task. Securing some money will help with the set up costs and take some of the stress off me as I attempt this solo venture. Please help me create this space for us!
