Our total project target is £550,000 to deliver new changing rooms, upgrade the existing facilities and provide a much needed disabled toilet. We are seeking out grants and other funding sources from the RFU and other sports bodies as well as our own fund-raising efforts. Get involved!
Who are we?
Old Colfeians’ Rugby Club is a local grassroots rugby club in Greenwich. We provide rugby for hundreds of players, from 6-year-olds to adults, men and women, boys and girls.
Why are we crowdfunding?
- Our changing rooms and toilet facilities are a century old and no longer meet the needs of a modern rugby club.
- In particular they do not provide a separate and appropriate changing facility for our girl's and women's teams.
- Female rugby is the fastest growing part of rugby, and we need to provide facilities to meet this demand.
- The club has welcomed many female players who have started their rugby journey with us but the lack of facilities has made it hard to retain players and build momentum
We need to provide toilet facilities for the disabled.
How we will spend the money raised
- We will build two changing rooms which meet the standards laid down by the Rugby Football Union regarding accommodation to be used by our female members, which includes shower and toilets.
- These rooms will be available to boys and men too, when not being used by females.
- We will also modernise the existing toilet and showering areas so they meet the needs of all players, from minis to adults, and improve accessibility for social members and visitors.
- We will also create a much needed disabled toilet
Any former players will still recognise the changing rooms from their playing days, but many parents (especially mums) may never have seen our current changing room setup, so here are some current senior squad members giving you a behind the scenes look!
How you can play your part
There are three simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
