OFFLINE - An Independent Film against AI.

Aim
Hello, we are Reelspark Productions, a group of independent filmmakers, and we need your help!
Synopsis:
OFFLINE is a feature film commentating on the rise of AI, specifically how it effects entertainment and personal lives.
Five friends decide to go to a rental together after agreeing to disconnect from social media and digital life. The group's agreement is a detox from their feeds, notifications, and constant need for engagement. At first, it’s awkward but warm. They talk, play games, argue lightly, rediscovering real connection. But when an old TV in the corner flickers to life and starts playing a show that none of them remember turning on, the mood shifts. The show’s host, an unsettling, smiling figure, seems to see them. What follows is a slow, creeping descent into a kind of horror that feels familiar, the quiet terror of being online for too long, and what happens when the noise finally stops.
OFFLINE… is not about the internet itself, but what it’s done to us.
The Why:
The decision to make this was based on the constant need to use our phones, mixed with the fear of AI and what it could mean for the future of the entertainment industry. As young independent filmmakers, we know that the Film Industry are still actively moving towards using artificial intelligence to replace real human creatives. Like many others, we want to prove that there is a better way - by investing in new voices and ideas. Our awesome crew is made up entirely from film school graduates and we're all coming together to get this incredibly important project onto the big screen, but we can't do it without your help.
How the funds will be used?
We've been incredibly lucky to have worked on previous productions where we have been able to purchase the majority of our future production kit. The funds from this crowdfund will go towards the following:
- Set Design
- Feeding the Cast & Crew
- Costumes, Hair & Makeup
- Film Festival submissions
- Streaming Platform submission fees.
- Location rental fees
