Help us crowdfund an anthology book featuring photography & poetry from young people, created with the Nova Family Programme.
Nova is publishing our young people’s work – and you can help to make it a reality!
Can you imagine how excited they are to see their own poems and photography in print? Our young people have been getting creative over the last year and you can help us make their work come to life by contributing to our Crowdfunder. By donating you’ll not only be supporting the print and publishing of an Anthology, but also contributing to our ability to provide a full range of activities for families and young people throughout the year.
The Nova Family Programme was originally established as a direct response to the Grenfell Tower tragedy. Since then it has become a core part of our offering to the community, working with over 500 children, young people, parents and carers across North Kensington and beyond. All the activities and services we offer are designed to address the key needs of education, wellbeing and employability.
During the last academic year, we ran regular after-school clubs for creative writing and photography, led by author Fiona Clark and photography expert Laura Noble. These sessions, for young people aged between 7 and 14, were aligned to curriculum outcomes in Art and English, whilst also promoting creativity and confidence. The common theme of ‘A Day in My Life’ gave the participants the opportunity to share their personal perspectives and provide a platform to empower youth voices across our diverse local community.

We are incredibly proud of the brilliant work our young people have produced and would love to celebrate their creativity and share their stories in a published book that they can be proud of.
The Anthology will feature poems, artwork and photography from over 25 children and young people, in a professionally produced, full colour, 52 page, perfect bound paperback.
Our initial target will fund our print run and cover the cost of a special book launch event for all the participating children and their families. We would like as many people as possible to see the inspiring work of our young people and so all supporters will receive a copy of the finished book, in either a digital or print format.
Everything we raise above and beyond the production costs will be used to support the ongoing work of our Family Programmes. Your support will help us deliver and expand our vast range of fun and educational activities, including:
We are committed to providing ongoing, holistic support, throughout the year, accessible to all our families.

Nova New Opportunities is a small diverse charity with a big reach and novel approach to social change. Our aim is to raise the quality of life of our participants and to contribute to a pluralistic, cohesive society that is fairer for all.
Based in North Kensington and serving its poorest wards, and those of the surrounding London boroughs, for almost 40 years, Nova is committed to working with individuals from marginalised and disadvantaged communities who are looking to develop their potential and achieve a better future for themselves. Nova brings about real and lasting change by addressing every person as an individual and seeking out ways to best support that person to reach their goals.
Nova does two things at its core - grassroots support of our local community and the hosting of regular wider reaching dialogue and influencing events, sharing insights, and lived experiences to highlight systemic injustice. Reaching over 2,500 people annually, we achieve our aims through interconnected programmes including Adult Community Education, Information, Advice and Guidance, Social Change Initiatives, and Family Programme services for families, children, and young people.

We tackle issues of social, economic and educational deprivation head on. For those we serve through grassroots programming, Nova is a bridge to participation in mainstream economic and social life. Nova works as directly as possible to help individuals create tangible change in their lives, providing access to education and pre-employment support. Alongside this practical approach, we proactively encourage individuals to engage with broader community and social issues.
Nova believes that in a healthy society, nobody is left behind or excluded and all people can contribute.
