Many people in the community are isolated lonely and hungry! You can make sure their they feel thought about and taken care of!
Chabad Lubavitch of Birmingham Campuses was established in 2013 to support the local student community. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have noticed that many members of the community, particularly the elderly and young individuals, are experiencing food insecurity and loneliness. To address this issue, we have focused on bringing together the young and elderly at our community centre. Through this initiative, young people can interact with their elders meaningfully, which not only gives them a sense of purpose but also alleviates loneliness for both age groups. Our visitors enjoy a freshly cooked, nutritious three-course meal and can also participate in various activities we organize.

We aim to improve peoples mental and physical wellbeing by encouraging them to participate in activities with their peers reducing their sense of isolation and loneliness. We provide a warm hub to ensure that people don't have to make the choice between heating their home and putting food on their table.

We are a Charity that is supported solely by charitable donations. We have faced massive rises in our costs over the past year. Our heating and lighting bill has tripled. The costs of the raw materials that we use to produce our meals has in some case quadrupled. This is directly impacting on our ability to operate. The number of people turning to us for help has also increased and we don't want to have to turn anyone away.
To enable us to continue to run our weekly weekend meals and socials We have been running weekend meals and socials since 2013 and have focused on the Reach Out project (the integrating of the young and elderly) since March 2020. We are facing challenges due to the increased cost of the food.
To enable us to continue offer a warm hub to help cover the increased cost of food supplies.
