The coronation has transformed the republican movement, while public attitudes toward the monarchy are shifting.

Charles is king. No debate, no legitimacy, no questions asked. 

That's not ok in a modern democracy.

Now is the time to protest

The protests and arrests on May 6 have had a huge impact on the campaign. We will not be deterred from protesting and already we're planning to protest at the Scotland coronation in July.

An unmissable protest 

Our message is simple: instead of a coronation we want an election, instead of Charles we want a choice.

Charles already has the top job, but on May 6 he had a pointless parade that cost the country an estimated £250m.

We will continue to protest against the monarchy, as well as launching a series of other projects and campaigns.

Opinion is changing

Over the last five years support for the monarchy has fallen from 75% to 55%. Almost a third of the country want the monarchy abolished. Most people under 35 want the monarchy abolished and support for the monarchy in Scotland has dropped below 50%. 

The Queen was the monarchy. The monarchy was the Queen. With Charles on the throne all bets are off when it comes to the future of the royals. 

Now is the time to turbo-charge the campaign - but we can't do that without your help.

What we spend your money on

Your money is spent on front-line campaigning, including:

• Additional campaign staff
• Hundreds of placards
• Large Not My King flags
• Megaphones and other amplification equipment
• Media work
• Social media advertising
• Google Ads
• Other kit and resources for protests
• Supporting local events and ambassadors

With your support republicans across the country can drive up support from a third to more than half the population.

Republic isn't bankrolled by multi-millionaires, we rely entirely on people like you, people who join and who donate to appeals like this one.

New campaigns will include:

• Digital advertising, including on Google, Facebook and Twitter.
• Events up and down the country, led by local people
• Turbo-charged social media, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
• Demands for fair coverage from the BBC
• Lobbying of politicians, calling on them to engage with this issue
• A direct challenge to Charles on his claim to the throne and accusations of law breaking
