We're still collecting donations
On the 28th October 2022 we'd raised £15,675 with 50 supporters in 41 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

On the 28th October 2022 we'd raised £15,675 with 50 supporters in 41 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
With an additional £5,000 we can add a soundproof photography and video studio to the space along with additional equipment into the fab lab and metal working area.
A MakerSpace is a community workshop - a creative space where people can meet, learn and invent using 3D printers, craft supplies, power tools and specialist machines, such as CNC Lasers and loads more...
Our goal is to build a space to bring creativity, community, learning and fun together for the people of Northwich. We want to create a space that is suitable for full time creators and makers along with casual hobbyists and creative minds young and old. We envision a vibrant community where members become makers, and the students become the teachers. We know that hands on experience is the best way to learn.
The Northwich Makerspace is for anyone who can make use of the facilities and becomes a member. It is ideal for artists, crafters, inventors, students, entrepreneurs and anyone looking to learn a new skill and socialise with like minded people.
The Northwich Makerspace will allow so many residents the opportunity to connect and explore their creativity, as well as ?foster? new employment and business start-ups.
At the Northwich Makerspace you will be able to:
Take part in workshops run by the in-house team, as well as outsourced experts to learn new skills
Connect with other people who share similar interests and have the same kinds of goals and aspirations
Gain access to support and advice for entrepreneurs
Invent new things with tools like 3D printers, laser cutters, welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, computers and more.
Learn YouTube video production skills and photography or collaborate with others to contribute knowledge on exciting projects
Gain access to tools and equipment you need to explore your creativity, learn new skills or help you work
Find mentors and teachers to help develop the skills and knowledge that you think is important
That's just a short list of the things that will be possible at the Northwich Makerspace.
The Northwich Makerspace will be located on the Cosgrove Business Park just outside of Northwich in Anderton. We have ample parking for members and there is a regular bus route just 5 minutes walk from the space with buses running every 15 mins from the centre of Northwich. People from all over the borough and surrounding towns will have access to our workshops, tools, people and resources.
We are hoping to open the Makerspace partially in order to run inductions from mid December 2022 and then fully open the space shortly after, in January 2023. We will have regular updates on the space on all our social media channels so be sure to subscribe and follow along with the build. We will contact ?founder/founding? members directly to arrange inductions in December.
A Makerspace membership works just like a gym. You pay monthly, with no long term commitment or contract. A normal membership will cost £40 per month. Founder members that support this campaign however will receive a discount of £5 per month for the first year.
For insurance purposes we cannot have an unlimited number of memberships. This means that places are limited. A founding membership will ensure you have access to the space when it opens in January and you won't miss out.
Craft Membership (Usually £25 per month)
A Craft Membership includes use of the Fab Lab, Craft Area, Social Space and Craft Workshop and Classroom along with cheaper rates for all courses the space offers. With a Craft Membership you can use the facility 7 days a week from 9am til 8pm.
Full Membership - (Usually £40 per month)
Standard Membership gives full access to the Makerspace and all its facilities. You also benefit from cheaper rates for courses and workshops that the space offers along with 24/7 access, exclusions apply and a full induction is required before 24/7 access is granted.
The Northwich Makerspace will initially have three types of personal storage. Sadly we can't offer personal lockers for free as we will only have a limited number available and they will be offered on first come first serve basis.
If you think this space would be perfect for you, or someone you love, you can help make the project a reality by becoming a member yourself or gifting membership to someone else.
Our founding members are crucial to the success of the space and will be involved in improving and growing the space. As a founding member you will also receive an exclusive T-Shirt and a welcome pack worth £15.
We have other ways to back the campaign and please get in touch if you think there is another way you could support the project. We would be happy to receive any bulk crafting supplies and resources that we could add to our free resource area.
We have already started work on the essentials...heating, a kitchen area, toilets, security and dividing up the space into the different key areas.
Your support helps us kit the space out with all the tools and equipment we need. If we reach our target we will ensure the space has all of the following facilities when we open.
· Assembly benches – an area where members can use a bench to work on their projects and use a full array of hand tools and portable power tools.
· Woodworking area – an area where people can use the bigger power tools like a table saw, drill press, band saw etc.
· Fab Lab, CAD area – an area for 3D printers, laser cutters and CNC machines.
· Metalwork area – an area for welders, chop saws and metal cutting band saws, sand blasting cabinet, metal folding and bending tools and more..
· Electronics area – an area for soldering, testing, reworking and microprocessor programming.
They extra funds would be used to build a soundproof video and photography studio space along. We would also be able to provide a wider range of euipment in the Fab Lab and Metal Working Area.
Not everybody has extra cash, even for the best of causes. If that's you at the moment, you can still help out in big ways. Subscribe to our YouTube channel, share this campaign, tell your friends, family, neighbours and anyone you can think of that could benefit from the space.
You can donate money to the project in return for one of many rewards including items, courses and vouchers. Our primary goal however is to build a community and for that reason we are offering early founder memberships at a discounted rate.
Thank You, Thank You, and Thank You for reading all this! Make sure to use the question box if there is anything I have missed.
Thank you all so much for your support.
