Aim
The global COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated severe food poverty and insecurity in our community. Your support can help us alleviate this.
Newton Community Fridge works on the simple basis of "Take what you need, leave what you can" - we actively collect and redistribute surplus food stocks from major supermarkets including Aldi, Tesco and Co-op, and through the support of our sponsors The Deli Group we also regularly stock the fridge, freezer and shelves with store cupboard essentials, toiletries and household products which may not be easily affordable or accessible to struggling families.
The global COVID-19 pandemic has plunged thousands more families into poverty, exacerbating the issue of food poverty and insecurity which was already gripping many communities, including our own here in Newton-Le-Willows.
We are looking to raise £400, to match grant funding secured via the Neighbourly Community Fund, which will allow us to ensure a steady supply of non-perishable food and non-food essentials to compliment the fresh surplus produce which is currently plentiful.
Our underlying ethos is simple - No Questions. No Judgement. Nobody Should Be Hungry.
