We’re raising money to help families pushed to breaking point by rising costs stay warm and ease the pressure of daily life this winter.
Winter can be relentless, especially for families already under financial strain. As temperatures drop, so does the sense of control. Every new cost feels heavier: replacing outgrown school shoes, finding a warm coat, or trying to afford simple essentials like toiletries and bedding.
At Goods For Good, we support people living with that constant pressure. We collect and distribute essential goods such as clothing, footwear, bedding and toiletries through our network of trusted community partners across the UK. Every delivery helps ease the daily stress of not having enough, offering practical relief to families who are doing their best to get by.
This winter, through our No Family Left Out in the Cold appeal, we’re raising £25,000 to help thousands of families facing the realities of poverty and rising costs.
Why It Matters
Rising costs and reduced support are leaving more people exposed to the realities of winter. Families already struggling are being pushed further into hardship, and many are going without the basics most of us take for granted.
For many, the winter months bring constant worry about how to cope, how to keep up, and how to manage when there’s nothing left to cut back on. It’s the feeling of falling further behind no matter how hard they try.
This appeal is about easing that pressure, helping people feel a little less anxious and a little more secure, and making sure no one is left to struggle through winter without the essentials they need.
Funds raised through our No Family Left Out in the Cold appeal will help provide practical support to people across the UK, including warm clothing, shoes and bedding for those who need it most.
How We’ll Use the Funds
Every donation helps us deliver essential items to people across the UK who are struggling to get through the winter months. The funds raised through our No Family Left Out in the Cold appeal will be used to:
Provide essential winter clothing: We’ll source warm coats, jumpers, hats, scarves and gloves for families and individuals who can’t afford to replace or buy what they need this winter. Our corporate partners will support this through donations of surplus stock, including high-quality thermal clothing from brands such as Uniqlo.
Supply weather-appropriate footwear: We’ll provide durable, practical shoes and boots to help people stay warm and dry during the cold and wet winter months.
Distribute warm bedding and essentials: We’ll supply blankets, duvets and other everyday items through our network of trusted UK partners, ensuring that support reaches people quickly and efficiently.
Work with local partners to reach those most in need: We’ll continue to collaborate with community organisations, housing support services and schools to identify families and individuals facing the greatest hardship and make sure help gets to where it’s needed most.
Raise awareness and drive action: We’ll use this campaign to highlight the growing pressures families are facing across the UK this winter and encourage wider community and corporate involvement in tackling hardship together.
Thanks to the support we received last winter, we ensured over 4,000 people across the UK were able to get through the cold months with the essentials they needed. But as the cost of living crisis deepens, many more are now facing winter without the basics. This year, our goal is to reach thousands more families and individuals, providing practical support that helps ease daily pressures and brings real relief where it’s needed most.
