We are raising money and awareness of the amazing work the staff at the Neonatal Ward at Royal Cornwall Hospital do every day!
Our beautiful daughter Lottie was born on 18th August 2022 at just 28 weeks gestation. She was admitted straight onto the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Her journey is going "as expected" with the expected good days and bad. Watching in awe as these Nurses, Doctors, Consultants keep my baby alive and healthy as if it was just another day at work for them - actually what they do incredibly special and in my eyes they are all heroes. Whilst sat there everyday I experience this overwhelming sense of helplessness, feeling like I need to do something constructive. Speaking to nurses on the ward they mentioned the charitable arm of the ward and how they need to fundraise for certain items or additional services they can offer. From then on I thought to myself... raise £1,000 by the time Lottie is discharged (hopefully the first week in November).
So here we are....
We are going to run other events and have around £250 from other fundraising we are doing. This prize draw will hopefully raise £500 as this is roughly the total cost of all the prizes that have been donated by local businesses. I also want to say a massive heartfelt thank you to these businesses whose support with this prize draw has been overwhelming.
Whilst Lottie's journey has inspired me to start this fundraising, it is not about or for Lottie, it is for the Neonatal Ward and the amazing people that work there. It is about the parents and babies that have been cared for there and will be cared for there in the future.
At the moment the ward have not specified anything in particular they would like to fundraise for, however, we also have no real idea of how much we are going to raise. When the ward have identified a "goal" they would like to purchase I will update the page.
Anyway, onto the good stuff, the amazing prizes are below, if you decide to enter; thank you and good luck.
Thank you for reading, Adam, Lesley, Lottie & all our families xx
We have been in touch with a few friends and local businesses and have been touched and overwhelmed by the prize donations we have received. We have "suggested" £5 per ticket for two reasons, 1 to cover the costs of running the raffle online (website hosting fee's) and 2, because we have tried to make sure that each prize is worth far more than the ticket cost...hopefully you'll agree. We have also including a couple of different options up to £20 which included discounted entries.

We are raising as much money as we can for The Neonatal Ward at Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske). The Neonatal Ward is in The Princess Alexandra Wing at Royal Cornwall Hospital.
Babies who need a higher level of medical and nursing support and born after 27 weeks’ gestation are cared for here.
A baby can be admitted to a Neonatal Unit when they:
There are 20 cots on the unit, all of which are designed to make sure a baby receives the best possible care from highly-trained doctors and nurses. The cots provide different levels of care depending on the needs of the baby. These levels are termed intensive care, high-dependency care, special care and transitional care.
The Neonatal Ward has its own registered charity and can use the money raised for a wide range of purchases i.e. equipment nurses may need, to items parents staying over may need. At this time there is no specific items the ward has identified this fundraising will be directly used for. However if, and when this changes we will update the page.
