We are raising funds to create a mural of our #NOMUSICONADEADPLANET X Peter Saville & Joy Division artwork on a large wall in Manchester M20
Music Declares Emergency is a small campaigning non-profit organisation bringing music into the fight against climate change. We believe in the power of music to move hearts and minds!
Our flagship campaign under the slogan #NOMUSICONADEADPLANET has brought thousands of musicians from all genres together to call on governments for urgent change.
Earlier this year, we teamed up with Peter Saville and Joy Division to create a "NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET" reworking of their iconic 'Unknown Pleasures' artwork; the flat lines representing the death of a planet.
We now have the opportunity to create a mural in Manchester with this artwork. We are working with a local team and the wall has been offered for us to use; it's all legal :) What's more; the mural will be created using carbon-absorbing paint!!!
We are trying to raise £4,400 to pay for the labour, equipment and materials needed to make this happen.
The loss of our planet will mean more than just the loss our environment, it will mean the loss of all of the art and music humans have created... including Joy Division's 'Unknown Pleasures'! We believe it's important to bring everyone into the fight against climate change and music connects people like nothing else.
Please consider chipping in to make this mural happen!!
Thanks,
Fay & the Music Declares Emergency Team
