We need your help in building a community flour kitchen and bakery
About us
We are Nottingham Mill Co-op; a not-for-profit community interest company and group of people working together to build a new, more positive grain economy for Nottingham city. We want to make sure that there is flour and its products available in the city, that are sustainably farmed, from local farms, healthy and nutritious, traded and made by people. We are for the famers, millers, bakers, cooks, everyone that eats breads, pasta, pizza, biscuits, noodles and much more.

We started in 2021 with a flour mill in a small bakery space which has helped to set up one milling business and bring more flour into Nottingham bakeries and people's homes. This year we are excited to have moved into our own, much bigger space which will enable us to increase membership of the Co-op and grow the community around it.
In our new home
The space will provide a low-cost and low-risk base for micro bakeries, noodle and pasta makers to start new businesses, upscale, embrace local grain, and build a supportive and collaborative community of small food businesses. It will also allow us to support farmers and sustainable growing practises, test local crops, create and share recipes, and welcome talented visiting bakers from the around the world to come and share skills with us.

What help do we need?
We need your help to set up our community flour kitchen and bakery. We have already received an offer from Nottingham City Council to provide 50 % of the cost of some of the equipment we need, including an oven, mixers, sink, pastry sheeter, pasta extruder and fridge. For £18,000 we will:
Ways to get involved
We hope you've been inspired to join us on this journey and to donate if you're able, with some great rewards below. Do get in touch if you'd like to continue to support us, know more about volunteering, are interested in learning to mill, or using the kitchen.
