Aim
Help us launch Niselo in the UK; a Sorghum based, gluten-free, non-dairy and gut-friendly Food & Drink on the Go for Everyone.
What is Niselo? Niselo is a highly nutritious, 100% plant-based, gut-friendly, yoghurt-like drink made with wholegrain, naturally Gluten-free Red Sorghum.
Enhanced with live yogurt-like cultures, Niselo was developed during 2018 by Tshwane University of Technology (Pretoria, South Africa) to combat malnutrition and related illnesses affecting pre-school and school-age children, as well as the elderly across sub-Saharan Africa. Post-pandemic, Niselo came to the UK using Scottish Government Inward Investment Catalyst support and with the assistance of Abertay University Food Science Group (Dundee, Scotland), Niselo was tailored for the UK and EU market making sure that all ingredients and flavours were evaluated and approved by experts and members of the public alike (Image courtesy of BiaGo Ltd.).

A fresh tasting, drinkable product, Niselo makes its way to the UK as a "Food & Drink on the Go" through Afro-Scottish start-up BiaGo Ltd (UK Company number SC747240), a venture in partnership with Nutrigo SA Pty.
BiaGo is backed by Nutrigo' renowned scientists and founders, Professor David Katerere & Dr. Oluwaseyi Obayade, alongside an experienced UK team of entrepreneurs: Robert Goodfellow, Lynn & Emmanuel Chisadza, and Bob Creighton MBE. Together, we share a vision of repurposing, reimagining, and relaunching Niselo in the UK as "Food & Drink on The Go for all".

Before a full Niselo launch in the UK, we are in need of funding to produce a market-ready and fully tested batch of Niselo at UK Food Standards Agency accredited facility, Foodworks. We also need funding to help raise awareness of our gut-friendly, gluten-free and highly nutritious "Food and Drink on the Go" across the UK "free from", Vegan and plant based community.
In the long term we want to establish a dedicated Niselo manufacturing facility in Scotland that will:
✅ Operate as a “Free-From” facility, meaning no wheat (gluten), nuts, soya or dairy products will be processed on site.
✅ Meet UK Food Safety Standards (SALSA or BRCGS) and Local Environmental Health Office regulations.
✅ Create real living wage job opportunities for local people in the Forth Valley area and for our suppliers across the globe.
✅ Support our social mission in collaboration with charity partners - helping to provide "Food & Drink on the Go” for those in need.
