Aim

The aim of Nightstop is to provide temporary emergency accommodation and mental health services to those in need.

Nightstop is an award winning, dynamic, responsive, and forward-thinking not-for-profit organisation, who has been based in Halton for nearly 10 years. Nightstop was established in 2012 and its services give vulnerable people and the wider community better chances in life as well as the opportunity to develop and improve their life skills and mental health through our eclectic suite of services. Nightstop has been a huge success in the local communities of Halton, Warrington and the LCR from employing and engaging local people within volunteering opportunities and providing a comprehensive support package of wrap around services to those in need of Emergency Accommodation and Mental Health Support.

Here at Nightstop, we currently provide a Comprehensive in-house Mental Health, Wellbeing and Wellness support service providing Counselling, Anger Management, Family and/or Group therapies and Mediation support to our local and surrounding community. Nightstop also currently have highly qualified children’s counsellors, who are part of the Nightstop team, based in Secondary and Primary schools within Runcorn and Widnes, delivering 1-1 therapy for children and are acting at their first point of crisis, working with a vast variety of children from main stream through to SEND schools, focusing on an array of issues from behavioural, bereavement, chaotic relationship breakdowns etc, this service has already proved invaluable in supporting local school children.

As well as our comprehensive Mental Health Service, we also provide a temporary, emergency accommodation service. This is for people at risk of becoming homeless, street homeless, sofa surfing, ex-offenders etc. All our accommodation is within shared properties, dispersed within local and surrounding communities of Halton, Warrington and the LCR. During COVID Nightstop continued to run our emergency, temporary accommodation as we were supporting around 40 beneficiaries, including some who had been referred to Nightstop by Halton Borough Council as part of the UK Governments “Everyone In” initiative to help all street homeless have a safe place to stay during lockdown.

All funds raised through Crowdfunder will be used to continue providing our vital and much needed services to the community. Whether this is providing more of our subsidised mental health sessions to those in need, acquiring additional properties for our accommodation service or purchasing items such as toiletries, non perishable food items and home furnishings to make a difference to those we support.
