But without visitors for so long, and thousands of animals to care for, it’s not been an easy year. It costs us £60,000 every month just to feed the animals alone.

We want to be here for you when you can visit again.

That’s why we want to give you something thrilling to look forward to – so we’ve created a prize draw like no other ever before.

Edinburgh Zoo is excited to offer a once-in-a-lifetime experience... in partnership with the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh - The Caledonian, win an unforgettable experience for you and your loved ones, exploring the zoo and going behind the scenes with your favourite animals. After you've explored to your heart's content, you'll be whisked off for a luxury overnight stay at the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh's iconic Caledonian.

Everyone who enters will be sent a special thank you film of the pandas and their keepers, so you can see just how much you helped simply by taking part.

Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian, built in 1903, is one of Edinburgh’s most significant landmarks. Standing proudly at the West End of Princes Street, this former Victorian railway building hotel has attracted international visitors and notable personalities for over one hundred years. Admire some of the best views in Edinburgh from your Premier Room with Castle View and enjoy a full Scottish breakfast as well as complimentary access to the Guerlain Spa facilities.

• Each £5 donation will act as an entry into the prize draw. You can also purchase ticket bundles from our reward list.
• You may make several entries to the prize draw but only one prize will be awarded.
• The group of four redeeming the prize must be in the same family or social bubble in line with any government restrictions in place at the time of redemption (larger groups may be accommodated depending on the number of children in the party).
• The prize draw will close at 23:59 on Monday 15th March, and the winner will be randomly selected through a draw performed by a computer process on 17/03/21
• You'll have until 30th September 2022 to redeem your prize.
• You'll have the zoo completely to yourself from 6-10 pm on the date of your choosing (except for staff accompaniment).
• For Health and Safety reasons children aged 15 or under must be accompanied by a responsible person aged 16 or over at all times.
• Edinburgh Zoo is located on a hill, so we recommend that you wear comfortable footwear.
• Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh - The Caledonian booking is subject to availability, blackout dates including the months of August (in 2021 and 2022), and 25th and 31st December 2021.
• The hotel prize includes two rooms, for one night on a date of your choice (subject to the above term).
• The prize draw is open to all aged 18 years or over excluding RZSS and associated partner’s employees and their families, RZSS board members or any third party directly associated with the administration of the prize draw.
