To create a new concept to corsetry which will translate into a fashion/beauty brand of timeless, flattering and feminine personal wardrobe
Introduction
A fashion design graduate from the University of Westminster I began working in fashion, beauty, TV, and music industries while learning to develop various skills throughout specialist fields for my own research and development within the industry.
Daughter to a fine art painter and interior decorator inspired me while growing up. So I decided to embark on a creative career path of my own and create my unique fashion label Nicol DeNoir™. A concept developed from corsetry based garments, designed as outerwear and flattering to the wearer was the ultimate goal, to create fashion pieces that every woman would want to own. All while cinching the waist and supporting the back too.

My background prior to my studies was always very colourful often engaging, working and mingling among the most glamorous and high profile environments, which originally started from a modelling career while at college. Then I went into the music industry straight out of University working on music videos in wardrobe for Victorian Beckham, Usher and Craig David to name a few and since then went on further to produce costume for feature films and bands. I went to work in events/red carpet sector a couple years ago, which was very similar and involved creativity from a completely different perspective, still very entertaining and I learned more about social etiquette and the other side of the coin rather than just behind the scenes, and learned so much more about people and wardrobe in general for all types occasions.
Before I became a designer I was also a trained beauty consultant, working in Harrods, Selfridges, Harvey Nicks all while studying, where I did facials, makeovers and advised women from all walks of life how to work with what they have and how to enhance their appearance effortlessly. Combining all my experiences and knowledge together I wanted to do the same type of business combining my journey throughout my clothing line with a personal wardrobe by creating a niche that women could relate to from all angles in a very modern way.

What is the fashion Label Nicol DeNoir™ all about
An adaption from the Victorian Era, the inspiration for the fashion label mainly came about due to my fascination for the past, present and future, therefore, the collection has a combination of classic, vintage, ancient or futuristic elements developed from ancient history, period history, current times, sci-fi and futurism.
While building my fashion line and working in red carpet events, which happened by chance. I gained so much more knowledge about beautiful locations and venues throughout the city, including all the Royal Palaces and great halls such as Goldsmith Hall and Guildhall, Royal Naval College, Saatchi, Tate and National Portrait Gallery, Natural History and Science museums, Sky Gardens and other Rooftops venues with great views across the city, luxury yachts, film premiers, Designer brands launch parties and award ceremonies such as all the important Fashion, Sport, TV, Film Movie and Music Awards such as the Bafta and Brit Awards, etc. and all the different types of people that attend them including the royal family, celebrities, other VIPs and society members, which gave me an even bigger vision and more focus to develop this as a fashion and beauty niche brand that would benefit the wearer in more ways than one.
Why Location is Key
I am a London based designer and my vision is to create a new type of trendsetter after a decade has passed into this new century. I want to create something that everyone who has discovered my brand so far will love even more and want to be a part of once I reveal the true idea behind it all. The timing is perfect and so far I have created everything myself by hand, as it is a bespoke brand like you see in Saville Row (which is also my ideal location), and with the funds raised, I will be able to make this vision a reality by outsourcing and developing a strong brand identity and a marketing strategy that will be more appealing for the modern women of this century as women are much younger now than they ever were, in previous generations.
Working among all these fantastic locations around London I soon realised this was no accident as I stumbled upon this route as it was all a big part of the journey I needed to see in order to build my business as I learned so much about heritage, Victorian, Georgian, Tudor and modern architecture and all the details and structure for each period, fine foods and the finest wines in the world, fine art and massive oil paintings and sculptures, harpist and Violinist playing Rnb/pop music, opera singers, dancer, magicians where I also learned all about the traditional art of fine dining, social grace, and etiquette which has been everything I needed to see in order to build the perfect concept for a vision I had before I actually embarked on this route as if this was exactly what I needed to do first before I could fully launch myself as the brand I wanted to be. My journey is my brand!
How I'm planning to do this?
I am an award-winning designer which came when I least expected it and now it really is time to bring out Nicol DeNoir™ out into the open (no longer a hidden gem) to give a deeper understanding of the true beauty behind this fashion label that will suit women, who need the extra support or simply love my style for an instant fix of a flattering and feminine brand developed for all types of occasions day or evening in a very classy and stylish way. This will be developed further once funding has been reached and given the opportunity to complete the whole collection and make this into a true success story that everyone has been waiting for. This British brand will also consist of other merchandise that will compliment the corsets styles I currently produce, as I will also be able to outsource more with manufacturers, with a selection of great new images, product shots, look books, branding, PR & marketing. In the video, you will see examples of some of the designs and samples that I have created. Once I build a team rather than working solo I will be able to do so much more beautiful pieces that some women will be so excited to own a Nicol DeNoir™ bespoke piece for many years to come.
