I grew up overlooking oil rigs being repaired at the Port of Dundee, but most of my family and friends in the East End of Dundee saw no benefit. I became a convinced Scottish nationalist. For most of my adult life I have lived in the North of Glasgow. As a housing and tenants activist I have fought back against housing privatisation, mass housing demolition and for control over district heating and other services, and tried to raise up working people. I thought long and hard about whether to stand in this election, but I chose to do so to put working people's priorities, women's rights and independence back at the heart of the political arena. That's why I'm asking you now to swing behind my campaign. Let's put independence and democratic control through public ownership back on the ballot paper and steer the people for political change NOW.
