Founded in 1922 at the suggestion of David Lloyd George, we have been the beating heart at the centre of Criccieth for 100 years. Our large 370-seat auditorium and 50-seat Green Room are available to hire for all sorts of events, including parties, weddings, theatre, concerts, meetings and lectures.
We have a regular programme of events, including opera, concerts, dances and plays. We also host Criccieth Festival and performances by the amateur Criccieth Starlight Players.
The Hall regularly hosts community events and was a designated warm space during the winter of 2022/23. The building also contains Criccieth's magnificent War Memorial, and we host the annual Remembrance Sunday Service.
The charity is run on behalf of the Community by a small group of dedicated volunteer trustees, and a small team of cleaners and caretakers. The building is old, large and grade 2 listed, so requires constant maintenance. We receive no subsidy, and are entirely reliant on the money we can generate through hire fees and the generosity of our donors and friends of the Hall. We have also been successful at obtainign grants to upgrade our facilities and for events such as the warm space.
