Raise £500 to deliver our workshop to an international library conference in Denmark.
We’re as surprised as anyone at being accepted to present a workshop at the Next Library in June 2017. It’s a massive opportunity for us and it's coming up fast.
Soooo....we’re reaching out to our families, friends, librarycampers, colleagues and anyone who can possibily help to make our dreams come true and help us deliver an awesome workshop in Denmark.
We'll be co-hosting Connection Through Collaboration. We aim to deliver a session that inspires and empowers attendees. If they leave feeling motivated to go back to work and make a difference in their communities and libraries, we will have done our job!
Delivering an interactive workshop is a first for us and we can't say we're not nervous, but that's part of the thrill. We like leaving our comfort zone and if we get to go, deliver the workshop and do it well - then we can do it again and inspire more people.
Plus it's a chance to demonstrate to the world how great UK libraries are and the staff that work in them. Only four public librarians - Aude and Luke from Newcastle Libraries, and us, are representing UK libraries and delivering workshops at the conference.
That's why this means such a lot to us. That's why we really want to go and do this.
The Next Library Conference organisers have generously donated us one ticket (£400), but we need two! Plus we have to fund our own travel and accommodation and it's not cheap getting to Aarhus or to stay in Scandanavia.
We're using up our annual leave and pumping our cash into this but costs are high with flights, accommodation and transport on the ground in Denmark. So that's why we're asking for your support!
