The Next Challenge Expedition Grant

The Next Challenge Expedition Grant is a new fund for adventure.

It will be awarded in August 2015 to an individual or team planning an exciting expedition and in need of a helping hand.

I am asking for 100 donations of £2.

I will match the total with £200 of my own money.

How will the grant work?

Applications opened on Tuesday 23rd June. They are administered by me through my website – www.thenextchallenge.org

The process has three stages:

• Brief outline application form (deadline: July 19th)
• Shortlist invited to submit detailed applications (week of July 20th)
• Skype interviews (week of August 10th)

Who is the grant for?

The grant is open to anyone but aimed at those new to adventure. It will be for independently organised expeditions, operating on a small budget and happening in the next year. I'll be looking for something original and interesting.

Why are you doing this?

I received many expedition grants when I was younger. They helped me undertake some fantastic adventures which have shaped the person I am today.

I am now in a position where I can give something back.

What do I get for my £2?

For the price of a bus ticket / sandwich / pint, you get to:

• Be part of a small group who have made someone else’s expedition possible.
• Live vicariously through an adventure that you helped get off the ground.
• Receive exclusive updates about the grant and the winner’s expedition.

Please don't donate any more than £2. I want this to be a grant of small donations from lots of people. I also intend to run it every year.
