Your support makes a difference
Raise enough funds to help with the repairs needed to the roof of our costume and set store.
Didsbury Players is a long-established amateur theatre group based in Didsbury, South Manchester.
The group was originally formed in 1961 as Celesta Players by local people who wanted to stage theatre productions in the area. In 2012, the group became Didsbury Players, reflecting our strong connection to the local community.
Today, we produce three shows a year (a family panto and two plays) performed locally for audiences of around 100–120 people per night. Our productions range from light-hearted and accessible to more challenging and thought-provoking plays.
Over the years, we’ve performed in a number of local venues, including church halls and community spaces across Didsbury, adapting our productions to suit each setting.
Didsbury Players is run by volunteers and supported by a friendly group of members, both on stage and behind the scenes, but now we need YOUR help!
The roof to our storage unit is in poor condition. We are at risk of losing many items to mold/damp if we do not fix it soon. As a community based group, we do not have the funds to replace all our costumes and set items in the event the roof gets worse.
We need to raise around £1k to have the repairs done properly. Any excess raised will be used towards a new lighting system, which is also required.
