Modernising Our Changing Rooms for All

Who are we?

Newport Golf Club is a traditional, yet forward-thinking members’ club known for its welcoming atmosphere, beautiful course, and high standards—on and off the fairways since 1903.

Our Club membership is made up of men, ladies & juniors. 

We have developed and are proud of our junior section of over 80 members. Juniors also participate in our weekly Junior coaching sessions. We are focused in developing the future generation of Welsh golfers. 

Our Ladies section plays a significant part at our club & to encourage more ladies into golf, we have recently held New2Golf coaching sessions for over 30 ladies. We have created a brand-new membership to guide these ladies from beginners through to full playing member – of which we currently have 7 on the programme. 

We have a purpose built golf academy and a professional golf team to offer dedicated coaching, advice and help to all. 

We have a strong contingent of low handicap golfers, regularly representing our club at county and national level. 

We also offer social memberships & a place of relaxation for members of the community to come and enjoy our food & beverage offerings. 

We’re proud to provide inclusive facilities with wheelchair access, dedicated washrooms, and step-free entry to bar and function rooms, ensuring a hospitable environment for all.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Our current changing rooms are outdated and dilapidated and no longer meet the standards visitors and members expect. We need to improve them. 

Our project will improve and renovate the men’s and ladies shower facilities as required. The majority of the works will be to the men’s facilities as they are in a dreadful state of repair and are a big negative to members and guests. 

The project will include new plumbing & building works to make the facilities more eco efficient and disability friendly. This will include new floors, walls, cubicles, ceiling, energy efficient lighting and improved insulation. 

We estimate total cost is £35,000. 

This matched funding gives us the opportunity to refurbish the showers without which the works could not be done. 

This project is about creating a welcoming, functional, and inclusive space that reflects the values and ambitions of Newport Golf Club.

How we’ll spend the money raised

All funds that are kindly donated to support the project will help us reach our fundraising goal. Any donation you can make, will be really appreciated.

Community impact

Newport Golf Club is a key part of the local community. We have many ramblers and dog walkers as well as locals regularly visiting the club for snacks and Sunday lunch . We host charity days and charity fundraisers.  We  provide a safe and welcoming environment for all. 

The new project will:

• Encourage more people to visit and stay longer at the club.
• Creates a welcoming environment for juniors, ladies, seniors, and players with disabilities.
• Improve match-day experiences and fosters stronger club spirit.
• Will help attract more visitors who’s revenue helps the local community
• Strengthens the clubhouse as a venue for wider community events.
