Buy forward boxes of delicious homemade New Forest Shortbread to be delivered in June.

COVID-19 has created a very uncertain landscape for millions of British businesses - particularly for small tourism based businesses and their suppliers.  Crowdfunder are offering up their platform to help UK small businesses like New Forest Shortbread, enabling them to Sell Forward for cash now on a promise to receive the boxes of shortbread at a later date.

Solent Local Enterprise Partnership are offering to match fund with a grant the money raised by this appeal. So for every £ you spend on a future order of New Forest Shortbread, we will receive another £ of public funds.

New Forest Shortbread are hand-made by me, Tracy Thew, a lady who loves to bake.    I built my business selling delicious homemade New Forest Shortbread at food festivals, farm shops, cafes and hotels for their guest rooms.   My plan for 2020 includes new packaging that  reflects the unique qualities of the New Forest. There are 3 boxes each containing 8 pieces of shortbread, 4 images and notes on the 2 flaps which tear off to keep and collect.

I commissioned local artist Will Drew to draw the illustrations, with notes on each image written by local author Ian Thew.  

On the day I received the printer's proofs for the new boxes the government closed the country down.  Essential, but devastating to small businesses gearing up for the 2020 holiday season.  

These amazing boxes have been designed with a love of the New Forest at heart. The images are stunning and the information would only be available if you encountered and managed to strike up a conversation with a local!!!!  The shortbread is made with love and tastes wonderful.  

It might seem frivolous to buy treats right now when staying safe and finding essentials are uppermost in our mind but if you Buy Forward for yourself, or send New Forest Shortbread as a gift to friends and family, perhaps as a birthday or anniversary gift or just to say I love you, you will be helping one small business carry on in-spite of the effects of the Corvid-19 crisis.
