Aim
We want to build a brand new set of cricket net facilities so our members and local community have more opportunities to practice.
WELCOME TO NEWCASTLE CITY CRICKET CLUB
We are a community-based cricket club located in the heart of the city. Our Club's aim is to provide a fun and safe environment for the community to enjoy cricket, regardless of age, gender, or ability.
We are always looking for new members to join our friendly and inclusive Club, so whether you are a seasoned player or just starting out, we welcome you to come and be a part of the Newcastle City Cricket Club family!
We currently have the following:
- 2 Saturday League teams
- Sunday team
- 3 Midweek teams
- Juniors at U9, U11, U13 and U15
- Brand new girls section and U9s team
- Dynamos and All Star programmes
- Junior to Senior pathways and beyond with some of our juniors going on to play first-class cricket.
And we are pretty good on the field as well...
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
Our Club's facilities include a cricket ground leased from Newcastle City Council, a clubhouse with kitchen and bar facilities, and some very old and not fit-for-purpose outdoor practice nets.
We desperately need funds to upgrade our training facilities and equipment so that we can continue to provide a high-quality experience for our members.
The current practice facilities are over 20 years old and beyond repair.
THE FINANCES
In 2023, we successfully Crowdfunded with the aim of repairing the nets but that is no longer cost effective to do so. The Crowdfunded money from last year will now be bucketed with this round of Crowdfunding. We need to get to £15k worth of donations which will then be matched by Sport England (£15k) to get to the magical £30k. We are also hoping to secure some ECB funding.
We will then be in a position to build a brand new facility. Hopefully something like this...
We believe that our club is an integral part of this community, and we need your help to keep it going! Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. It will help us upgrade our training facilities and equipment, keep our club running, and continue providing a welcoming space for everyone in the community.
