We are launching a youth cricket programme, welcoming people from all backgrounds. We are raising funds for coaching, nets and equipment.
Newbold Cricket Club is a local hub for cricket and a beautiful place that the local community can come to play sports, be active, socialise and get involved in their local neighbourhood. We play in the Warwickshire cricket leagues on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays and are open to all from across the town and further afield.
Our vision is for Newbold CC to be the go-to club in Rugby that parents want to take their children to play cricket.
1. A club that is strong enough to support not just itself but locals too
2. A clubhouse and ground we are proud to bring friends and family
3. A place where young and old feel at home on and off the pitch

We want to be a community hub for Newbold. A place for people to play cricket, meet others in the area and generally have a good time.
Our cricket club is one of the few sporting venues within Newbold. It offers a crucial space to exercise and meet during the summer season, when the nearby Rugby team is not playing.
We regularly involve residents from the neighbourhood who partake in supporting the team, by scoring, coaching or just being involved. Our club is open to all. We host an annual tip ‘n’ run tournament to introduce those outside the sport to cricket in a fun, relaxed and inclusive way. Newbold CC is one of the few clubs to host a Women’s cricket team.

The club is now being led by a diverse and mixed age group of players who are determined to revive its fortunes after a challenging few years of lockdown, severe flooding and difficult economic conditions. Newbold is one of the 30% most deprived wards.
The pandemic was tough, it hit our finances hard such that our reserves are now bare. But mostly we lost the ability to bring through new youth players, whilst everyone was inside making sourdough bread and doing Joe Wicks workouts.
Launching Newbold CC’s youth setup will be crucial to provide an opportunity for young people in the neighbourhood to get active and get involved in the local community. Newbold is one of the most deprived wards in the county and suffers from many negative social issues. A youth setup will offer a chance for activity and friendship in the local area, particularly over the summer when winter sports are paused.
We also experienced severe flooding last year that means we must investigate improving our wicket to provide the quality of surface that will help develop young and old players alike.

As you can see below our pavilion has also seen better days, it needs to be made a warm, inclusive place for the whole community.

We are Crowdfunding to deliver a best in town youth programme by improving our training facilities, purchasing key equipment, training senior players to be qualified coaches and improving our pavilion to create an enjoyable, safe and inclusive environment.
With your support we will fund:
Training equipment for youth and senior coaching
Qualified and experienced external coaches for youth nets
Pavilion improvements to create a welcoming environment for all. Focusing on communal areas and changing rooms
Ground improvements
Coaching courses for senior players so they can pass on their wisdom to the next generation
