Aim: Birmingham Moseley Mini and Juniors are looking to create a dedicated floodlight training space within the area of the club.
Birimingham Moseley Mini and Juniors provides rugby for hundreds of young people every week in South Birmingham.
We're crowdfunding because we need a dedicated area for training for our young people. The traning space will enable the hundreds of kids between 7-16 years of age to train midweek, and will also support our community foundation by enabling them to host schools and half term clubs on site in a safe and dedicated environment. Our schools work over the past year alone has enabled us to coach over 5,000 children in local schools and we'd like to expand this work and enhance the connection between the schools, the children and the rugby club. We're crowdfunding to enable us to provide a quality playing surface, floodlights and a safe environment around the pitch.
The project will enable us to continue to develop sporting opportunity for children age 5-16 in South Birmingham, many of them living on low incomes. It will also enable us to support our rugby provision for girls in the area, further enhancing our connection with Swanshurt girls school and other local schools where we are already building rugby into girls school curriculum.
The money will be spent on:
- Groundworks to increase the size of the playing area
- Floodlights
- Safety barriers around the training/playing area
- Ongoing maintenance of the pitch and playing area
- Improved access system for the training area
The project will enable us to continue to develop sporting opportunity for children age 5-16 in South Birmingham, many of them living on low incomes. It will also enable us to support our rugby provision for girls in the area, further enhancing our connection with Swanshurt girls school and other local schools where we are already building rugby into girls school curriculum.
With over 5,000 children already recieving coaching through our schools programme we aim to enhance this in the coming years running leagues and cup competitions as well as heavily subsidised half term sports provision for local children.
We are a diverse community in South Birmingham, and we will continue to offer coaching to girls and boys of all races and backgrounds.
